Volunteer shifts run throughout all three convention days. We need the most help on Friday evening and all day Saturday.

Volunteer Roles

Roles may include, but are not limited to:

Logistics Coordinator: Help manage check-in, room setup, crowd flow, and on-site operations throughout all three days. Requires extended periods of standing and moving between event spaces.

Registration Desk: Assist the Registration team to check attendees in on the first day, distributing badges, lanyards, and welcome packets. First face attendees see.

Hospitality Team: Prepare, distribute, and transport food and snacks. Assist with meal logistics and ensure a smooth dining experience for 250+ attendees across all meals.

A/V & Tech Support: Run sound, lighting, and presentation tech during keynotes, breakouts, and the Shark Tank. Experience with A/V equipment preferred.

Speaker & Dignitary Liaison: Assist speakers and distinguished guests with directions, materials, and any needs before and during their sessions. Professional demeanor required.

Decorations & Setup: Assist with setting up décor for Garba Night, the Gala, and daytime event spaces. May require heavy lifting, ladder use, and early-morning setup calls.

Social Media Team: Document and share the YJP 2026 story in real time across Instagram and other platforms. Photography, video, or content creation experience a plus.

Programming Assistant: Support session facilitators and manage room schedules. Help attendees navigate breakout selections and ensure sessions start on time.

General Assistance: Provide help wherever it is needed throughout the convention. A flexible, go-wherever-needed role for volunteers who want to be in the thick of it.
